"…we were treated to a stirring moment between Lanie and Beckett, as Kate explained the evidence that supposedly pointed towards Castle having had an affair with the victim while he and Kate were already together. While the scene began as if Beckett had believed these allegations, crying over being betrayed, it was soon so brilliantly revealed that those tears were tears of desperation and helplessness as the usually-stoic detective felt heartbreakingly unable to help the man she loved. Stana Katic and Tamala Jones were both incredible in this beautifully written scene. Katic delivered one of the most memorable lines of the night, one of both sweet and lighthearted comedy, yet also of great emotion: “I know him, Lanie. He is an immature, egotistical, self-centred jackass sometimes. But he’s not this."

Absolute favorite scene. The amount of love Kate Beckett has for Richard Castle is almost suffocating to observe as a viewer. And I don’t even think she fully realized how powerful her feelings are for him until this very moment. This type of reaction, this right here, is only something you feel for someone you are so irrevocably in love with. There’s just so much vulnerability from her here. I can barely even handle this scene. I still, for some reason, cannot wrap my mind around how in love Kate Beckett is with Richard Castle. It still seems too good to be true. These kinds of scenes, Kate completely letting go, breaking down because she loves this man so freaking much are literally too huge for me to adjust to. I think this is my favorite thing Beckett has ever said in regards to Castle.
